Visit a local nursery or greenhouse and find a new plant for this season. You can choose something that goes with your current landscape or you can find a nice indoor option. A few local places that we recommend would be Fahr Greenhouse, Passiglia’s Nursery and Baxter Gardens.
Splash in a puddle
Who doesn’t want to feel like a kid again? What better way then by jumping in a rainy-day puddle. As adults we always act proper and try to stay dry and pressed. This spring throw out those thoughts for just one rainy-day and go splash in a puddle. Don’t worry about what your neighbors will think, or about your clothes or shoes getting wet, they will dry! Be a kid again and go ahead and jump in that puddle! I promise, it’s a stress reliever for sure.
Go Camping/Go on a hike
Spring has the perfect weather to go hiking, with temperatures around mid to low 70’s. Find a beginner’s trail around your campsite and just enjoy the sunshine while also enjoying nature. There are a lot of places locally to try out such as Howell Island that is located directly next to Fick Supply Service.
Have a Picnic
If you haven’t gone on a picnic recently, I highly recommend it. You can pack a simple lunch or even order from your favorite deli. Pick a park with a great view, whether that’s a lake, trees, or the river. I love the sounds of laughter and birds that parks have. In this fast paced world we live in, it is so nice to just pause, take a break or slow down. Picnics provide that for me, it gives me that time for myself to sit and think or not to think even. Enjoy the sunshine while you can, soak in that vitamin D the sun provides. It’s a proven mood booster.
Go to the Zoo
We are so lucky to live close to one of the most amazing Zoos in existence. Home to over 13,000 animals representing 555 species, the Saint Louis Zoo is recognized worldwide for its innovative approaches to animal care and management, wildlife conservation, research and education. One of the few free zoos in the nation, the Saint Louis Zoo attracts approximately 3 million visitors annually and is the most-visited attraction in the region.
Take a Family Photo
Do yourself a favor and get a family photo! You don’t even need to pay a professional to do this task. I know people put off family photos because it can get expensive or it’s hard to manage schedules, but sometimes all the pieces fall together for your family last minute and it’s near impossible to find a photographer available on the spot. We all have smart phones now, and with the photo technology at our fingertips everyone can take a professional looking picture. On top of that there are many editing apps available for novice users. Go to a park, or a field or find a photo worthy location, set your cameras timer, pose! It really can be that easy!
